Support our veterinary team by helping to monitor pets post-surgery, and contacting their owners (via text or phone call) for pick-up once their awake. You will also enter the doctor's notes into the computer (updating pet's weight, meds prescribed, etc.). You will also be responsible for updating each pet's status in a shared document for surgery and front desk staff to see.
Volunteers must:
- be detail-oriented and organized
- have excellent communication skills
- be comfortable using a tablet and have basic computer skills (typing, searching, editing)
- be able to work efficiently
- be able to follow directions from staff, and work independently
- be able to handle strong smells, loud noises, seeing animals under/waking up from anesthesia, possibly seeing animals receive vaccinations, possibly seeing needles, blood, etc.
- be able/willing to complete other tasks as needed
