What do we mean when we say we're going canvassing? Well...
- A fun group of volunteers and staff (invite your friends!)
- Meet up in a chosen neighborhood where the pets need our help!
- Split into small teams and walk the neighborhood with a map, a wagon of pet supplies, and lots of flyers to post in fences and front doors
- NO "knock and talk", ONLY posting flyers about our upcoming events serving that area!
- Hand out pet supplies when we do happen to see a need
- Take notes on situations needing follow-up from our Outreach team
Why is canvassing important? Well...
- It's the best way to directly notify pet owners about low-cost services - giving their pets a better chance at consistent care and lifelong health
- It's the best way to get a boots-on-the-ground look at situations in neighborhoods where there's a high level of need for pet care
- It's the best way to start building relationships with new clients who need a little help!
Canvassing has a big impact. It gives a face to our organization and gets us directly into neighborhoods where we're needed the most. Please consider taking a walk with us!
