FRIENDS, we're SO excited to share that PRCKC is participating in the KC Pride Parade for the very first time—and we want YOU to be a part of it!
This is a fun, high-energy, community-centered volunteer opportunity where you'll walk alongside our team, celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, and help us share our mission of Keeping Pets and People Together.
Whether you're part of the community or a proud ally, we'd love to have you join us! The more, the merrier!
Event Details:
- Check-in Time: 9:30 AM
- Parade Start: 11:00 AM
- Estimated End: ~1:30 PM
- Location: Westport Area (KC Pride Parade route)
- Line-Up Zone: Yellow Zone - Entry #43
- Check-in Intersection: Mill St & Westport Rd
What You'll Be Doing:
- Walk with the PRCKC group in the parade
- Carry banner (a couple volunteers)
- Help distribute bandanas and flyers before the parade
- Engage with community members and represent PRCKC
Important Note:
KC Pride does not allow items to be handed out during the parade route. Instead, we're going to spread out before the parade begins to hand out bandanas and flyers, and potentially connect with attendees after the parade ends as well.
What to Wear / Bring:
- PRCKC shirt (if you have one! — if you don't, yet, and would like to participate with us, please email cpfaff@prckc.org, so I can get you one!) and something Pride-themed
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Water bottle + sunscreen
- Pride energy & good vibes
Why This Matters
This event is more than a parade—it's a celebration of identity, inclusion, and community. By joining us, you help support the LGBTQIA+ community, raise awareness about affordable veterinary care, and show that PRCKC's mission is for everyone.
Additional Info:
No experience needed. This is an easy, social, and impactful way to get involved—perfect for first-time volunteers. Feel free to bring a friend, family member, or coworker and make a day of it. We’re hoping for a strong turnout, and the more people who join us, the more impact we can make.
All Volunteers MUST Embody PRCKC's Core Values: Be Helpful. Build Trust. Be Compassionate.
